What is Prezi?

  • Prezi is a nontraditional, interactive way to present or convey information to students in a format that is easy to understand.
  • Prezi has redefined how Power Points are being presented.
  • Prezi can be used for presentations on or offline.
  • Prezi is a great tool for collaborating with people in different areas, as well as an interactive classroom.

Basic "how to" for Prezi:

1. Position your slides around a background that represents your topic
2. Add media (photos, videos, ect.) and position on the page
3. Insert text relating to media and topic
4. Frame your slide to your liking
5.Create your path from the beginning to end of the presentation

How to use Prezi with your students in the classroom.

As a group we decided to highlight why we think Prezi would be beneficial to teachers and students.

1. It has demonstrated that the Prezi application is very interactive, and can be a little wild at times, depending on the amount of matter in a topic.
.
2. It of reminded me of a reusable black or white board online. The only difference was, that the topics that are being pushed aside are not being erased , just faded away.

prezi-logo.jpgReflectionFor this project we were put into groups and were to design a wiki based on a topic our groups were assigned.  This project was fairly simple because I have worked with wiki before and everyone in our group were able to work together.  This project refers to the NETS standards 2, which is how we worked with technology to create a presentation of information we have learned about, and standard 3, which is how we took what we have learned and used the technology available to show other classmates what we have learned.  The INTASC standard is standard 5: application of content, which allowed all of us to take information we have learned about Prezi and compose it in an organized way with Wiki to eventually be presented to our classmates.  Everyone I presented to was able to answer the multiple choice questions and understand Prezi which is an informal way that I used a small assesment of multiple choice questions to evaluate their learning.
